Carlos Barbosa Futsal
The city of Carlos Barbosa has only 26,000 inhabitants but is home to one of the greatest teams of futsal in Brazil. The team was born from the merger of the two most famous and strongest teams: Real and River. On January 1st, 1976, with an orange uniform inspired by the Dutch team, said loud and clear that they would win the state title.
Three decades later, the team won many competitions that it has become one of the world`s most important teams in the sport, probably the greatest achievement of the Futsal World Champion by FIFA.
Today the Associação Carlos Barbosa de Futsal is recognized around the world, fulfilling a promise made earlier to a city passionate about the sport, and now beats its chest with pride when the name Carlos Barbosa is pronounced.
Titles and Achievements
Among the major titles and achievements include:
Champion of the Rio Grande do Sul`s State Championship Série Ouro: 1996, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2004 and 2008.
Champion of the National League of Futsal: 2001, 2004 and 2006.
Champion of Supercopa da América: 2002 and 2003.
South American Champion: 2002 and 2003.
World Champion Club: 2004
